Watermelon Summer Card

So, I haven’t shared my cards for quite some time. I meant to, but just haven’t gotten to it. I have definitely still been making cards and taking some photos of the finished products. I have also still been participating in card challenges over at the Try Stampin’ on Tuesday or not Facebook page. Maybe one of these days I branch out and try some other challenges. Here is my most recent card that I made:

For this card I used the “rays” folder from this set:

Sizzix Texture Fades Embossing Folders 2PK – Rays & Retro Circles Set by Tim Holtz

I used a retired stampin’ up stamp set for the kids holding the watermelon (Good Ol’ Summertime stamp set) – it’s one of my favorite sets.

I also used the new stitched shape framelits from Stampin’ Up

The paper has been in my stash for a very long time, so I don’t remember what company made it, but it is pretty yummy!

Anyway, I hope you like the card, it made me feel like summer might actually get here after living through one of the rainiest winters ever.

Christmas Cards in August

I know, usually it’s Christmas in July, but that just didn’t happen for me this year. I had my mom and dad visiting for the month of July and even though my mom and I made cards, we didn’t do much with Christmas cards. We did make one, as I wanted to try out a new technique, but it turned out ok, However, I have made a couple of Christmas/Winter themed cards for the Try Stampin’…or not…on Tuesday challenges and I really like how they turned out, so I thought I would share them with you.
Challenge #282

I used an old Stampin’ Up set for the truck and the Christmas tree, the border is a Sizzix die from the Hello Doily set.  The circles are from the Sizzix Framelits circle set.  The paper was from my paper stash, so I don’t know what company made it or even where I bought it (although I think it came from a cute little scrapbook store in Kent, WA).

Challenge #283

For this cute little snowman card, I used white and red card stock that I purchased at Walmart.  I like to buy the basic white card stock (Georgia Pacific brand) at Walmart, because it’s such a great deal – $5.48 for  150 sheets!  The polka dot paper is from BoBunny and the twine is from Hobby Lobby (although I’ve discovered I prefer the Twine from Twinery).  Once again, I used the Sizzix Circles Framelits and the embossing folder is from Spellbinders (unfortunately, it’s been discontinued – but you might be able to find it used on eBay or Etsy).  I’d love to be able to tell you what company made the cute snowman stamp, but I’ve had it a while and I no longer have the packaging, so it isn’t marked.  The Snowflake stamp is from Stampin’ Up – Endless Wishes (retired).  What cards are you making now?  Have you started Christmas cards or are you sticking with birthday cards?  I would love to know!
